Report on the December 9, 2001, B.C. Junior Speed and Siamese tournaments.
On December 9, 2001, over thirty players took part in the B.C. Junior Speed Championship and the B.C. Junior Siamese Championship qualifying tournaments, which were held concurrently with a Christmas party.
The provinces two top junior players, Andrew Ho and Roman Jiganchine, were unable to participate because of university exams. However, both have agreed to take part in a Championship playoff on January 13, 2002, to be held along with the new year's first junior open at the Vancouver Bridge Centre.
The B.C. Junior Speed Championship will be a four-person multi-round robin, to be held on the morning of January 13, 2002. The four participants are:

Jason Lee
The B.C. Junior Siamese Championship will be a four-person multi-round robin, to be held on the afternoon of January 13, 2002. The four participants are:

The December 9, 2001, event did give us winners in the various age categories. The following names will be engraved on the Dives, Grauer and Harper B.C. Junior Speed Championship perpetual trophy, which was generously donated by the law firm of Dives, Grauer and Harper:
